I Accidentally Made a Psychological Thriller TTRPG… and It’ll Mess With Your Head
Alright, odd ones, let’s talk about how I accidentally built an entire psychological thriller TTRPG because my brain can’t just… stop at “that’s enough.”
It started with a short story - dark, tense, and just unsettling enough to make you side-eye your own security cameras. I wrote it thinking, yeah, this will scratch my creative itch. And for about a week, it did. But then my ADHD kicked the door in like, what if you didn’t just tell the ending… what if you let people live it? Boom-now we’ve got The Watcher’s Game, a rules-light psychological thriller tabletop RPG where you decide how it ends.
Here’s the kicker: it’s not just a game. The short story is the setup, dripping with paranoia and surveillance horror, and the TTRPG is the payoff-you and your friends making choices under that same creeping dread. Solo play? Absolutely. GM-less? You bet. Duet? Oh yeah. I wanted something you could pick up and play without needing a manual the size of a brick. And soon-like, real soon-it’s all going to be available for five bucks. That’s less than a fancy coffee, and way scarier than your latte.
And because I am constitutionally incapable of not giving away cool stuff, there’s also a free section on my site with quizzes and other chaos. Yes, quizzes. The kind that make you go “okay, but now I have to know.” Also, if you like the free stuff and want to toss a tip my way, it keeps the lights on in my creative cave and fuels more weird little projects like this.
So, whether you’re here for the story, the game, or just to see what I’ll impulsively make next, I promise this one’s worth it. Keep your eyes peeled for the release-because in The Watcher’s Game, someone’s always watching.
If you survive, drop me a message.
